Foundations

We have to start somewhere, so we might as well start with the basics — the foundations that will set us up for success.

Whether you’re building a business, working on your health, or starting a new project, it’s tempting to skip ahead to the fun part. But often, that leads to redoing things, wasting energy, and spending more time and money than necessary.

Try asking yourself:

  • If I did know where to start, what would I do first?
  • What do I need to gather — supplies, tools, money, software, etc.?
  • Do I have a map or plan?
  • Who else needs to be involved (coach, CPA, spouse, etc.)?
  • Is my timeline realistic?
  • What does success look like?
  • What values do I want to honor along the way?
  • What boundaries might I need?
  • What is the deeper mission or result I’m going for?

Take a breath before you jump in. Slowing down at the start sets you up for speed and success later.

“The root of self-care is setting boundaries.”

Money Talks: Credit Cards

Just the words “credit cards” can bring up stress for many of us. Most of us weren’t taught how to use them wisely, and some learned the hard way.

If you’ve ever felt buried in credit card debt, I feel you. It’s heavy. But used intentionally, credit cards can also be a great tool.

If you’re using credit wisely:

  • Use rewards cards (points, miles, or cash back).
  • Stretch your cash flow.
  • Keep money in an interest-bearing account longer.
  • Always pay off the balance if possible.

If you’re carrying debt:

  • Pay more than the minimum — even a little more helps.
  • Build a budget (yes, even if you hate the word!).
  • Ask for help — a coach, advisor, or accountability buddy.
  • Try removing temptation by freezing your card (literally).
  • Examine emotional spending: what need or feeling is behind the purchase?

Self-Care Tip of the Week: 5 Senses Grounding

When you’re feeling overwhelmed or scattered, try this sensory reset.

  1. Look around and name 5 things you see.
  2. Touch 4 different things.
  3. Close your eyes and name 3 sounds you hear.
  4. Smell 2 scents.
  5. Notice 1 thing you can taste.

End with three deep breaths. Presence is powerful.

What I’m Reading

WORTHY by Jamie Kern Lima

How to Believe You are Enough and Transform Your Life

This book is gold.  I literally was highlighting things on page 1.  I have used quotes in public speaking events, and am bringing in this incredible information into coaching sessions with clients, and talking about it on podcasts.

“You don’t rise to what you believe is possible, you fall to what you believe you are worthy of.”

Powerful stuff. I honestly think it is a must read for all women.

Aligned Business Discovery Call

How would you like to talk one on one with a female small business expert who is also an intuitive coach, and a CPA? One who understands your struggles with focus, time, confidence, energy and overwhelm? One who knows you want to have a better relationship with your money AND you want to grow your business in a way that feels authentic, and honors your values of freedom and health?

Well, now you can! I have a limited number of spots each week to do just that. I love connecting with women business owners, hearing their stories, their struggles and their vision, and helping map out a way to get there.

With my Aligned Business Discovery Call, you have the chance to work with me one on one, absolutely free.

Because I hold these calls personally, there are only a few spots available, so if you’re serious about getting unstuck in your business and would like my guidance and support, please book your call in the calendar app provided.
